 The pay range is $22 - $32/HR (DOE)

We seek a detail-oriented Concrete Finisher responsible for finishing concrete, cleaning and preparing job sites, digging trenches, setting braces to support formwork, erecting scaffolding, cleaning up rubble and debris, and tearing out concrete.

Duties and Responsibilities in all weather conditions: 

  • Align forms for sidewalks, curbs, or gutters; patch voids; use saws to cut contraction joints.
  • Using various hand and power tools and equipment, smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete such as floors, walks, sidewalks, walls, footings, roads, or curbs.
  • Construct, erect, install, and repair forms and fixtures of wood or plywood using the carpenter’s hand tools and power tools.
  • Monitor how the wind, heat, or cold affect the curing of the concrete throughout the entire process.
  • Wet the surface to prepare for bonding, fill holes and cracks with grout or slurry, and smooth, using a trowel.
  • Build wooden molds, and clamp molds around area to be repaired, using hand tools.
  • Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills, and other fixtures in freshly poured concrete.
  • The production of the project required concrete surface, using broom, hand floats and trowels, power trowels, stamps.
  • Direct the casting of the concrete and supervise laborers who use shovels or special tools to spread it.
  • Read and understand blueprints. Determine elevations from blueprints (tenths & inches above sea level in relation to benchmark.)
  • Set elevations, design, and install proper concrete fall.
  • Understand how to figure the quantity of concrete needed.
  • Use and care of level, transit, and laser.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.

 Education and Type of Experience Needed to be Successful:

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a similar position in the industry.
  • Certifications – To obtain during employment:
    • ACI Finisher
    • OSHA 10 Hour
    • Forklift Operator
    • Skid Steer Operator
