This specific role will include promptly enabling job completion by scheduling and overseeing the work crew, ensuring equipment and materials are enough, repairing and maintaining equipment, training crews, and assisting with special projects as assigned. While also will be responsible for placing and finishing concrete slabs using various tools and equipment, reading blueprints and survey stakes to obtain directions and elevations of slabs and finished surface requirements, safely operating equipment, and being aware of surrounding personnel and structures.

Daily Duties:

  • Responsible for recruiting, providing oversight, training, mentoring and assistance with tasks required of laborers, form setters, finishers, and equipment operators.
  • Perform daily safety and maintenance checks and ensure that all unsafe work practices or safety hazards encountered on the job and those reported by field crew members are immediately resolved to OSHA and Company compliance standards.
  • Determine required safety procedures based on job site conditions and materials encountered.
  • Ensure all equipment is operated safely and efficiently by the crew to ensure zero accidents and maintain job budgets.
  • Effectively identify concrete mixes and determine required equipment and procedures required to achieve desired finish and performance results.
  • Work with the designated Safety Crew Member to ensure that Jobs Hazard Analysis (JHA) forms are completed daily.
  • Calculate material quantities.
  • Verify the completion of the pre-pour and post-pour checklist.
  • Be able to communicate to a Superintendent equipment and manpower needs to meet schedules and deadlines.
  • Collect and verify the accuracy of receipts from deliveries or purchases.
  • Be able to work with Operations and Mobilization Departments on field orders.
  • Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations to bases or other vehicles.
  • Understand the project plans and specifications.
  • Manage the field to minimize overtime and communicate when overtime is required to the team.
  • Complete daily reports to include time spent on the job (employee timecards), weather conditions, sub-contractors working for Coloscapes Concrete, and a general daily description that includes activities performed, delays incurred, and changes directed by the Client in the field.
  • Verify and approve employee timecard entries daily and approve weekly reports from payroll for processing.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience to be Successful:

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar position or industry or demonstrated exceptional job performance and leadership skills.
  • Certifications – To obtain during employment:
    • ACI Finisher
    • OSHA 10 Hour
    • Forklift Operator
    • Skid Steer Operator
