Senior Accountant

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Accountant to support financial operations and help drive strategic business decisions across our growing organization.
Role Review
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing financial management and reporting while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and integrity of company financial data. This role partners closely with leadership to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning initiatives while enhancing internal controls and financial processes.
This position plays a key role in delivering actionable insights that support operational efficiency, growth, and long-term success.
Essential Duties and Major Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
- Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes
- Perform variance analysis and provide performance insights
- Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions
Budgeting & Financial Strategy
- Develop and manage annual budgets and forecasts
- Provide financial planning support and cost-saving recommendations
- Partner with leadership on strategic initiatives
Compliance, Audit & External Coordination
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
- Support audit preparation and serve as liaison to external auditors
- Assist with tax preparation and regulatory reporting
Process Improvement & Internal Controls
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows and automation
- Strengthen internal controls and accounting best practices
- Support accounting system improvements and upgrades
Leadership & Collaboration
- Mentor junior accounting staff and support team development
- Communicate financial insights to leadership and cross-functional teams
Accounts Receivable Management
- Monitor AR activity and support timely invoicing and collections
- Investigate discrepancies and coordinate adjustments
- Prepare AR schedules and journal entries during close cycles
Assist with other duties as assigned.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- CPA and/or MBA preferred
Type of Experience Needed to be Successful
- 10+ years of accounting and financial management experience
- 5+ years in a Senior Accountant, Controller, or similar role
- Construction or concrete industry experience preferred
- Experience supporting private equity initiatives including growth, acquisitions, or multi-location operations required
